HERITAGE MONTH

The month of September is know as Heritage month nationally and a lot of events will be taking place in celebration of our diverse cultures and heritage as a nation. I NguduThePoet will also be observing this month through related articles, poetry and event updates here in this blog so make sure you don't get left behind.

NguduThePoet blogspot encourages you to post any content related to the theme of Heritage in this month of September and more than welcome are "short stories", "poems" and "articles" written and embracing our indigenous languages.

I would also like to take this moment and honor the life of a great revolutionary and visionary, the leader of the "BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS MOVEMENT" the late "STEVE BANTU BIKO" who on this day 34yrs ago died in the hands of the Apartheid government for speaking his mind and teaching the truth.
Let us uphold his ideology and live to be an emancipated black people, quoting from baba Steve Bantu Biko himself "THE MOST POTENT WEAPON IN THE HANDS OF THE OPPRESSOR IS THE MIND OF THE OPPRESSED" Let us empower ourselves beautiful people...

I AM THE POETIC PROPHET

I am a Poetic Prophet
I speak of Poetic Proverbs
I settle Poetic Protests
I preach the Poetic Gospel
That speaks of Poetic Prospects
I know my poetry's potent
'cause it got poetic content
Derived from poetic concepts
Of greater Poetry Legends.

I am the Poetic Prophet
Who rhymes with Poetry Legends
From all the continent's stages
Writing my poems in pages
Reflects the poetic stages
I've passed through my poetic journey.

My poetry is a remedy
It heals like the herbs that grow on lofty hills
And nourished by flowing river streams
I am!
I am the Poetic Prophet who makes the young girls scream and young men dream
But this is not a dream
I decided to live out of my dream and leave my dream
So that in reality I can live my dream.

I am the Poetic Prophet of wonder
Who makes you realise why you made a blunder
The aim is not to go harder but to go right down under
I am the Poetic Prophet of thunder
Whose poetic verses echo like no other.

I am the Poetic Prophet who is closer than your brother
Caring like your mother and protects you like your father.

I am the Poetic Prophet who elevates your heart and makes your soul cry
I never let no moment pass me by
Because, I am the Poetic Prophet who holds in his right hand the golden trumpet
The same as the one that is blown by the Arch Angels during their sacred moment of worship
I am the Poetic Prophet who holds in his right hand the golden trumpet that horns the harmony of hope,
The symphony of peace and the melody of forever
However! I am not alone
I move and swing and glide with the rhythmic percussion sounds of the African hearted entity
The source of my Poetic Identity
Iingcinga Creative Society
A true force of Poetical Unity.

I Am Poetry

Hatred is a force of attraction
Between mankind and weapons of destruction
Causing Mass destruction and extaussion
By causing distortion of meaning
Thus demeaning the value of self and worth.

Wrath is raw, rough and round
But in essence wrath is wrong
We're imprisoned by forces unknown
And locked up in alloy chains
So strong as the wrath of the ancestors.

Superstars bump and grind on stage
With a massive energy defining their age
But huff and puff behind the stage
Defying God and that's why there's rage
Beef and grief then wars they wage
While in Talks and Thoughts we Poets engage
That's why we grow wiser as we age...
